Waterfront estate in Sarasota listed for just under $19 million
A waterfront house in Sarasota is on the market for $18.95 million.
The five-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom home at 388 South Shore Drive sits on about 0.17 acres, or 7,428 square feet, of waterfront in Sarasota's Sapphire Shores neighborhood, according to a release. The property, which is known as Lunara, is just south of the Ca’d’Zan at the Ringling Museum.
The house rises high, featuring a residential elevator that travels from the ground level to the rooftop vestibule, the tallest of its kind in a Sarasota home, according to a release. The home extends higher than any future residence may be permitted under the Federal Emergency Management Agency coastal development regulations.
At the entrance of the home are matching pivot doors on both levels that exceed 10 feet in height. Inside, there are floating staircases through open voids without visible support. The primary suite offers a private balcony with a spa that is connected via an open-air bridge to a detached studio.
Outside, there is a two-level infinity-edge pool and a rooftop entertainment deck featuring a putting green, fire pit and lounge area. At the ground level are flex spaces that allow for fitness, games or water sports storage as well as a garage that can accommodate up to 10 vehicles.
An unseen design element includes a hidden chef’s prep kitchen, accessible only via a sliding cabinet in the kitchen. It is ideal for caterers or staging, and it features additional cold storage and cleanup zones.
Andrew Tanner of the Laughlin Tanner Group, a real estate adviser with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, listed the property. Mark Sultana of DSDG Architects designed the home, and it was constructed by Voigt Brothers.
