Spec home on Sarasota's Gulf Coast hits the market at $11.9 million
A mansion on Sarasota's Gulf Coast built to withstand catastrophic storms is listed for sale at $11.9 million.
The home at 4005 Casey Key Road in Nokomis is 7,977 square feet of elevated living space. The builder, Modesta Homes, broke ground on the home speculatively, without a buyer in place. It sits on a half-acre and includes deeded access to the open bay across the street.
Modesta Homes paid $2.45 million for the property in 2021, according to Sarasota County property records.
Jennifer Zales and Courtney Tarantino of Coldwell Banker Realty are marketing the property for Modesta Homes. Its hurricane-resistant features include "concrete block construction on pilings, impact-rated windows and doors and elevated FEMA-compliant living," Zales said
“This is one of the only brand-new Gulf-front homes available on Florida’s West Central Coast—and it couldn’t come at a more important time,” Zales said in a statement. “As demand grows for storm-resilient, design-forward beachfront homes, this newly constructed Modern Coastal estate by Modesta Homes on Casey Key is truly one-of-a-kind."
The home has six en-suite bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms and includes a home theater, lounge, bar and a wine wall, according to its listing materials. Its garage has room for 10 vehicles.
