Long-awaited townhouses in downtown Oldsmar on track for 2026 completion

A long-awaited townhouse complex in downtown Oldsmar will wrap up construction this year.

DRB Homes is building three-story townhomes in downtown Oldsmar next to the public library. The community, known as Odeon Square, will include 82 townhomes with two-car garages. It is slated to open in April at 510 St. Petersburg Drive E.

The project broke ground in May after five years of discussions and planning following developer Devon Rushnell’s 2020 proposal. Pinellas County has issued 11 new construction permits for the project.

Odeon Square will offer four floor plans that include four bedrooms, three or three-and-a-half bathroom townhomes ranging in size from 2,259 square feet to 2,828 square feet. Each townhome will have balconies and/or porches.

The 11 permits total an estimated $4.9 million in construction, according to county documents.

Of the 82 townhomes, 18 will showcase commercial space that is advertised as a live, work, play space but will not be permitted as a commercial storefront, a spokesperson said.

The community will have a pool, cabana, mail kiosk and bike parking. The city will place a large art installation at the front of the community as well.

The city of Oldsmar sold the 6.23-acre site in April for $2.8 million, according to property records. It sits off Tampa Road behind shopping centers like Park Avenue Plaza, home to Buffalo Wild Wings and recently leased Bodybar Pilates and Jeff’s Bagel Run.

DRB Homes is expanding its presence in the Tampa Bay market with additional communities set to open across the region this year, including one in Brandon. It has existing communities in New Port Richey, Spring Hill, Parrish and Wesley Chapel.

DRB Group acquired Florida luxury builder Biscayne Homes in 2024, according to a release. Biscayne Homes had an established reputation as a premium builder in the Tampa Bay market.
