Four Tampa Bay cities make US News best places to live list

Several Tampa Bay area cities have earned spots in U.S. News & World Report's annual “best places to live” list.
The 2025-26 rankings evaluated more than 850 major U.S. cities to determine the 250 best places to live.
Here are the top Tampa Bay cities from the list:
- Palm Harbor is Tampa Bay’s top city, securing the No. 2 position in the state. This unincorporated community in Pinellas County is lauded for its blend of suburban tranquility and proximity to Gulf Coast beaches. It offers residents a high quality of life with access to outdoor recreation and cultural attractions.
- Riverview was next on the list at No. 198. The suburb has rapidly expanded, adding restaurants, affordable housing options and a family-friendly environment.
- Pinellas Park, ranked No. 216, is recognized for its diverse community and commitment to cultural events, which contributed to its inclusion in the rankings.
- St. Petersburg, known for its vibrant arts scene and waterfront parks, secured the No. 246 spot, reflecting its ongoing appeal to both residents and visitors.
For the first time in three years, Tampa did not feature in the top 250 of this list, ranking just outside at No. 265.
The U.S. News rankings are based on a methodology that evaluates cities on factors such as quality of life, job market, value, desirability and net migration. Data sources include the U.S. Census Bureau, the Department of Commerce, the Federal Reserve and the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
